LLLT Devices for Hair Loss
LLLT stands for Low Level Laser Therapy. There are more and more hair loss treatment devices out there using LED lights as opposed to laser lights for the treatment hair loss. Some are claiming that LLLT stands for Low Level Light Therapy. I even saw an advertisement for one device that quoted a study that used lasers where there device only used LED's, claiming that LLLT meant low level light therapy. It does not. There are hundreds of studies using LLLT for hair loss treatment which show positive results. All of these studies use lasers, not LED's. Here is a search result for LLLT on Pu-Med which allows you to read many studies on this. The reason LED lights do not work for hair loss is because LED light does not penetrate the skin deep enough to affect a hair follicle. LED light only penetrates the skin 2 to 3 millimeters, while hair follicle roots are up to 6 or 7 mms below the skin surface. The light needs to penetrate deep into the skin in order to stimulate growth. Laser can do this, while LED can only penetrate 2 to 3 mms into the skin,. not nearly enough to stimulate the follicle much lower in the skin. All of the laser devices on our website use lasers exclusively: https://www.thefreedomstore.ca/hair-loss-lasers-s/745.htm |

Treatment for Frontal (hairline) and Temporal Hair Loss
Temporal
hair thinning in women can have many causes. Sometimes this is just how your
hair grows naturally. Sometimes the progressive thinning is due to Androgenetic
Alopecia. It could also be caused by traction alopecia, among other causes. If you are experiencing this type of hair loss it is best to see a trichologist for assessment. However the following suggestions can get you started treating the areas and improving growth in the mean time. We have had quite good success improving both density and hair length with this combination. 5% Liquid Minoxidil – Minoxidil works by improving blood circulation to the hair follicles. Apply a few drops daily to the affected areas. Be careful not to overuse. 1 drop spreads to an area the size of at least a toonie. Be sure to wipe excess liquid from non-hair-bearing areas as facial vellus hairs can be stimulated using 5% minoxidil. Apply at night before bed and it can be washed off in the morning if desired. https://www.thefreedomstore.ca/Rocky-5-Minoxidil-60ml-p/rpm5.htm HairMax LaserComb – The HairMax LaserCombs are ideal for small areas such as temples and hairlines. They are small, efficient, and cost effective. LLLT works by stimulating ATP in cells, which can improve hair growth. Please note that only lasers work for hair growth. LED lights do not penetrate the skin deeply enough to have any effect on hair follicles. The HairMax combs are available in both 9 and 12 beam configurations.= https://www.thefreedomstore.ca/HairMax-Ultima-9-Classic-LaserComb-p/lex0052.htm HairMax Hair Skin and Nails Supplements – Hair, skin (epidermis) and nails are related because they all use the same process in their creation: keratinization. Please note: Studies show that collagen supplements do not improve hair growth. There is no collagen in hair, only keratinized cells. Collagen improves skin because the dermis contains large amounts of collagen. These supplements contain the essential nutrients for hair growth, and there is more then just biotin! They also contain saw palmetto which can help reduce the effects of DHT on hair follicles. https://www.thefreedomstore.ca/HairMax-Essential-Hair-Vitamins-p/lex0032.htm |

Trichologist's Home Treatment Recommendation: Simple Dandruff, or Pityriasis Simplex Capitis
Dandruff, technical term is Pityriasis Simplex or Pityriasis Capitis, is a condition of the scalp characterized by white flakes on the scalp and hair. These flakes can be oily or dry, and in worse cases can fall onto your clothing around your shoulders and neck, causing embarrassment. Dandruff is a result of rapid shedding of the epidermis in the scalp area. While the exact cause is not known, it can sometimes be related to diet or inferior shampoos. There is also usually a prevalence of fungus called Malassezia present, which is why anti-fungal shampoos can be quite effective. Luckily, simple dandruff is not difficult to treat, and our recommendation below should provide a solution in a matter of days. We recommend an anti-fungal shampoo containing 2% zinc pyrithione. This shampoo has no know side effects, however if you feel any skin irritation after using it, then discontinue use. It is normal to feel a slight tingling sensation on the scalp while using this shampoo. When dealing with even mild dandruff we recommend shampooing daily. The more you shampoo, the better the results will be. The idea that frequent shampooing is bad for your hair or scalp is a myth. If you feel you are experiencing excessive dryness or oiliness on your scalp, then a visit to a Trichologist is recommended. Jorgen Medicated Shampoo – This is an anti-fungal shampoo. This shampoo is very effective in reducing or eliminating flaking, itch, inflammation, and other fungal related issues of the scalp. There are no side effects, and it can be used safely on a regular basis. Also, anti-fungal shampoos have been shown to improve hair growth in studies. The mechanism of action is reduced follicular inflammation. https://www.thefreedomstore.ca/Jorgen-Medicated-Shampoo-p/jormed.htm Apply an adequate amount of shampoo to completely cover the scalp. Massage well into the scalp and through the hair once lathered. Allow to sit on the scalp for 2 to 3 minutes, then rinse. You can follow with conditioner. For
hair conditioning, we recommend something from the Capilia line suitable to
your hair type. These conditioners are vegan friendly and contain all-natural ingredients:
